How do we check for eggs in turtles and tortoises? There are a few methods. One is palpitation and this involves manually feeling for the eggs above the leg in the pelvic region. X ray or radiograph is another good option and will show calcified fully developed eggs. What we use most is ultrasound like you see in the picture that is posted.
